Join Ocean Island day trips on an excursion out to East Sooke Park. Hidden 40km north of Victoria, East Sooke is one of the best kept secrets on Southern Vancouver Island. Far from the tourist traps of Victoria, East Sooke is what the South island is all about.
Starting off on the fine sand beach of Aylard Farm, we will begin to hike for about an hour along the west coast trail. On the hike we should expect to see eagles, sea lions, petroglyphs, maybe even whales! With just enough exercise accomplished we will have a lazy lunch of Beechy Head, a fantastic lookout that will give us great views across the Strait of Juan de Fuca to the Olympic Mountain Range in the USA.
After catching some sun we will head back to the beach via the rainforest. Depending on the weather, we will lay about in the sun and give you a true understanding of how cold the Pacific Ocean is.....
Cost is $20 for Transportation, park fees, gas and know-it-all guide. Oh and we have a cooler for your "beverages."
